You should learn about losing weight, for permanent weight loss. Being overweight puts you at greater risk of getting cancer. Diets do not work. 99% of the people gain the weight back. The stress of not eating as much as you want makes your system more acid. This is unhealthy and makes you crave more sugar, salt and fat making weight loss harder. The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disorders (a National Institute of Health) (niddk.nih.gov/publications) says "A weight loss 'diet' that limits your portions to a very small size or that excludes certain foods may be hard to stick to. It may not work over the long term. Instead, a healthy eating plan takes into account your likes and dislikes, and includes a variety of foods that give you enough calories and nutrients for good health."
You can lose waste in an hour to flatten your stomach for waist management. With fasting you can lose water retention weight quickly or lose it slowly with diet. It is caused by a substance that has no calories-- salt. This way of eating favors vegetarians and vegans.
Mark Hyman, MD, editor in chief of the medical journal Alternatives in Health and Medicine says (in Bottom Line Yearbook 2008), "Myth 1: The less you eat, the more weight you'll lose.... In my experience, the average person who goes on a diet actually gains 5 pound instead of losing weight. Never go on a "diet." Instead eat foods that turn on your metabolism. These are whole foods that come from nature, such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts, seeds, beans...."

There is a lot of wrong information out there that will make you fatter and create greater risk of getting cancer. For example, yogurt is considered good. But dairy products contain hormones that will make you fatter instead of helping you to lose weight. These growth hormones are given to the cows to make them fatter and give more milk. Then when you consume the products made from their milk, you are consuming hormones designed to make a cow fatter and so makes you fatter. They also cause girls to go through puberty earlier in life (like age 8 or 9). The meat and dairy people deny this but it is illegal in the European Union, Canada, Australia and Japan. There is organic milk and goats milk that does not have the above hormones although it is still not very healthy for you. The above applies to meat also which makes weight loss more difficult.

Taijutsu is the ninja art of unarmed combat. The book, Taijutsu (© 1986) by Charles Daniel says (page 5) "Probably the most important area of training that is overlooked is diet." "Unquestionably, one of the main problems with diet in America today is the overeating of meats, sugar and overprocessed foods." "As general guidelines, the following foods are almost always better than the above mentioned. Fish, instead of beef or pork, raw or steamed vegetables instead of overcooked or canned, and fruit instead of donuts, candy, etc." Historical sources show that ninjas also ate brown rice (a whole grain unlike white rice), sesame seeds, buckwheat (whole grain unlike wheat), tofu and seaweed.
Due to heavy mercury pollution, you can avoid fish completely especially if you are pregnant. By not eating meat, you do more to help the ecology of the planet and protect against global warming than doing anything else including switching to a hybrid car. In a groundbreaking 2006 report, the United Nations (U.N.) said that raising animals for food generates more greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide) than all the cars and trucks in the world combined. So a vegetarian or vegan diet would do this.
Resistance training is much more effective at losing weight than cardio (cardiovascular or aerobic exercise). Muscle burns calories. Excess fat shortens life span due the extra burden on the cardiovascular system. Doing cardio today helps you today but not tomorrow or the next day with weight loss. Doing resistance training (lifting for short) today can help you today and everyday after that, with weight loss.
Doing cardio is very good for circulation and losing weight. Resistance training builds muscles. Resistance training, like lifting weights, does not burn as much calories as cardio, but the extra muscle causes you to burn more calories all the time. With more muscle you burn more calories 24/7 even while you are sleeping as long as you have it. A pound of extra muscle burns an extra 40 calories per day according to Wockhardt Hospital and Mass Builders Newsletter, June 1998. The purpose of bodybuilding (a type of resistance training) is to sculpt your body (like a sculptor sculpting clay) so it will look exactly the way you want it to look.
Any woman can use it to become thin and not muscular. Just do a little on each body part. For a woman to become muscular, she has to do it excessively and use steroids. According to Chuck Norris (on ad for his Total Gym), cardio cannot change the shape of your body, but resistance training can. If you look through bodybuilding magazines, you can usually find one that has a basic workout routine. Then just follow the pictures in the magazine. Since lifting is so much more effective than cardio for losing weight, just by doing it an hour a week can make a difference. Arnold Schwarzenegger (governor of California) says that to be a champion bodybuilder, you have to have a maximum of muscle and a minimum of body fat and water retention.
Fitness Rx Magazine (October 2006) says "The only real solution to combating cellulite is to undertake a regimented program of targeted exercise [resistance training]. While it isn't a 'cure all'..., a well-designed thigh-training program can help to substantially reduce, if not completely eliminate, any sign of cottage cheese thighs. Lean muscle tone helps smooth underlying fat, making cellulite less evident." Power lifters will do 1 or 2 reps (repetitions) to build strength. Bodybuilders do around 10 reps to build muscles. More reps are used to build endurance.
Experts say that 90% of type 2 diabetes can be cured by losing fat and gaining muscle. One lady on TV says that she controls it with diet, exercise and drugs but sometimes it goes too high. She can always lower it in a half hour by taking coconut oil. Rebounding is great for losing weight if you do not have neck, back or knee problems. During free fall you have no gravity (0G) on you. When you are being propelled upward, you have 2G or twice the force of gravity on you. This causes all the cells in your body to expand and contract. It strengthens the ab muscles and is great for weight loss.
They tell fat people to walk but it does not get the cardiac rate high enough for weight loss. So do powerwalking (walking as fast as possible with arms above waist [Olympic event]), instead. You can gradually build up to it. There are bodyweight exercises (Hindu squats and push-ups) that are aerobic and bodybuilding. They can be done at home in one spot. But it is easier to lose a pound of fat than to create a pound of muscle which equals weight loss.
If you do not want to do the above then give up all salt for a few days before the prom to lose a few pounds (almost all processed food contains salt). Now you should look better. You can go back to your normal eating and the way you looked before. Or you can use this motivation to permanently change your diet by following the rest of the info on this site. Even though metabolism slows down while fasting, which is good since you are not consuming any food, it will speed back up to normal when you start eating. The fatter you are, the less the metabolism slows down while fasting.

This has the best, easiest and most effective way to lose weight based on nutrition. According to an article by Dan Gwartney, M.D. on page 42 of Fitness Rx magazine (October 2006) trans fats are man made like for margarine, processed foods and when you fry foods. Two groups of monkeys were fed the same amount of calories but one group got trans fats. That group gained more weight than the other group and the weight was mostly around the belly and love handle area. Also the omega-3 and omega-6 unsaturated fats (found in nuts, seeds [like flaxseeds] and vegetable oils) reduced the size of the fat cells according to the International Journal of Obesity. The TV news says that coconut oil, nut butter, canola oil and soy oil help with losing weight.
The omega-9 unsaturated fat, like in olive oil, does not reduce the size but reduces the number of fat cells. Also these fats burn faster and help the body burn fat. The plant foods also have a little saturated fat which burns slower. Fish have some omega-3 and saturated fat but now have a lot of pollution. Meat, poultry and dairy have a lot of the bad saturated fat. So avoid trans fat and lower your risk of heart attacks by 53% and reduce belly and love handle fat. Avoid the bad fat in meat, poultry and dairy. Avoid fish due to the poisons in it. Eat the good fats in avocados, olives, nuts, seeds and vegetables to help in losing weight.
Good fat helps to build muscle while helping to burn body fat resulting in weight loss. The slower that carbs from a food enters your blood, the less fattening it is. Potatoes have fiber which slows down the sugar entering your blood. But a fat like olive oil, added to the potato, makes it less fattening since fat slows down the sugar entering your blood. Avocados are 60% fat but they are always listed among the 10 healthiest foods to eat. MDs say that the fat in it lubricates the body and is a great natural anti-inflammatory.
Get some bananas and strawberries. Freeze them. Then put them into a blender separately and blend them. Then mix them in your bowl and eat.
There is a huge difference between good carbs and bad carbs (involving glycemic load). The good ones, like celery and carrots, will never make you fat. The bad ones, like cake, will make you fat. If you dislike fruits and vegetables, fasting a few days can re-set your taste buds so that you love these foods. There was this theory that animals in the wild do not get overweight because they eat all of their food raw. Cooking destroys enzymes in foods which helps you digest and assimilate food. It is no longer just a theory. From many people with all raw food diets we now know you do not become fat from raw foods. People say you should drink a lot of water to lose weight. It is better for losing weight to eat a lot of water. Eat foods containing a lot of water like raw fruits and raw vegetables-- the kind of foods you can juice.

People eating all raw foods learn a whole new way of preparing foods so they can eat raw (FAKE) ice cream, cake, pudding, cookies, pasta, burgers, bread, mashed potatoes and pizza. The foods that keep you thin (even if most of it were cooked) are fruits, vegetables (plenty off greens), WHOLE grains (all good carbs), nuts, seeds and beans. Bad carbs includes refined wheat, white rice and refined sugar. Where do you store excess carbs and fats? You store them as body fat. Where do you store excess protein? You cannot store it. It must be broken down. Doing this creates toxins that hurt the body including creating acids that cause osteoporosis. This is why they tell you to eat a lot of protein to lose weight. But you still get calories from it, when it is broken down.
Americans eat way too much protein which is why most of them get myocardial infarctions or cerebrovascular accidents (AKA heart attacks or strokes) according to Joel Fuhrman, M.D. In other places in the world these are not common problems. College textbooks on nutrition say that protein deficiency is rare in the world and does not exist at all in this part of the world. This means that while millions of people are starving from a lack or carbs and fats, it is rare for someone to get enough carbs and fats but not enough protein.

Avocados and bananas are great for losing weight since they are filling. It is better for digestion to eat the juicy fruits first. I like to eat for dinner first a red grapefruit or orange, an apple, an avocado and then 2 bananas.
With this you make sure to first feed your body healthy food to give it more energy, vitality and strength. Over time you will desire healthier food to eat because of this which greatly helps in losing weight. If you are having a craving for sweets, you can have a super sweet snack like dried figs and dates (very healthy for you). The unsulphured fruits taste much better and are healthier. Your breakfast should be all fruit and nothing else but fruit.
Before a meal, eat as much fruit as you want. It does not need to be digested in the stomach so it passes through. Wait 15 minutes before eating other foods so it can leave your stomach and not have to sit around for hours while other foods digest. This is common courtesy and better for digestion. Eat fruit on an empty stomach. This is the best way for anyone to eat fruit to improve digestion and health. The above applies to what is commonly considered fruit. It does not apply to the other soft fruit (reproductive part of a plant) like tomatoes, cucumbers and bell peppers which are good in salads. Eating a ripe avocado as the last fruit fills you up with healthy fat so you crave unhealthy fat less. For it to taste great, it must be ripe so it is soft but not mushy.
If you have a sweet tooth it could be because fruit is the healthiest food. So you eat that first. Even a new baby can eat fruit. Eating fruit does not hurt the plant. The sugar in fruit is fructose which has a low glycemic load, meaning the sugar enters the blood very slowly. The faster the sugar enters the blood, the more fattening the food is. The American Diabetes Association has an article that says "Eating Fruit Can Help Keep Weight Off." It was about a study done-- Am J Clin Nutr 80:29-37, 2004.
How do you know that fruits are the healthiest foods? Are there any people who only eat meat and dairy and nothing else? No. Are there any people who eat only vegetables and nothing else? No (vegetarians also eat fruits and grains). Are there any people who only eat grains and nothing else? No. Are there people who eat fruit and nothing else. Yes! There are thousands of fruitarians in the U.S.A. Here is a picture of a long time fruitarian bodybuilder. This guy, Richard Blackman (now Jericho Sunfire) had lots of health problems and they vanished when he became a fruitarian. Food made by nature or God is good for you. Food made by man is designed to make you fat and addicted to food so you will buy as much as possible. Whenever possible get organic produce to avoid eating pesticides.
Then at the beginning of your meal eat a salad first (which is mostly raw). Create one that you like. Eat as much as you want. Now you have filled up on water and fiber which provide no calories since fiber is indigestible. Then you eat your normal meal but you will have less room for it so you want to eat less of it. As far as not harming plants, another type of fruit is hard fruit like nuts, seeds and beans (legumes)-- all fairly high in protein. Foods like chocolate cake has sugar that enters the blood quickly. But if you eat it after a meal with plenty of fiber then it slows down that sugar entering the blood so it is less fattening. Plant foods have fiber. Animal foods have no fiber.
If you do not like salads consider that the cheapest ingredient is iceberg (head) lettuce so that is most of the pre made salad. Instead use romaine lettuce or mixed greens. Other healthy salad ingredients are carrots, celery, cucumber, red cabbage, mushrooms, broccoli, artichoke, cauliflower, bell peppers, red onions, radishes, sunflower seeds and tomatoes. One favorite salad is Cabbage Crunch. Grate or shred green and red cabbage. Add poppy seeds, finely sliced almonds, green onions (scallions), raw apple cider vinegar and cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. Being on the ninja warrior diet means that you should eat to live, not live to eat.
Also for better digestion drink all the fluid you want before the meal and then don't drink anything while eating or for an hour after eating. By drinking at those times you are diluting the powerful digestive acids. If you are having trouble eating without flushing it down with water then chew more and give the food more time to mix with your saliva which helps it to digest. A great salad dressing base is raw apple cider vinegar (not other vinegars), which helps you to lose weight, and cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. You can try adding lemon juice, poppy seeds and avocado. If you can make healthy food taste great, you can be thin and healthy for life with the ninja warrior diet..
You can take
until you get most of the waste out of the colon and see how much weight
you lost and re-measure your waist. Or you can pay to get a colonic. Raw
foods keep your intestines clean. All plant foods have plenty of fiber
(if it has not been removed) which keeps the colon clean. All animal foods
have no fiber at all. So eating animal foods clog up the intestines and
so do the refined grains where fiber has been taken out. Fiber (in plant
foods) help fill you up but provide no calories since it can't be digested
and it helps keep the colon cleaner.
Losing Water Weight (This May Be Why You Have Trouble Losing Weight)
Consuming anti-water is just like drinking or consuming less water. But what is anti-water (I made up this term)? If you are dying of dehydration and you come across water that is loaded with bacteria, viruses and parasites that can make you very sick, the water can still save your life. But if it contains enough of this anti-water then it can not help your dehydration at all. With more of this anti-water in it, it will cause you to get more dehydrated if you drink this water. So what is it? Why can't you drink sea water if you are on a raft in the sea and dying of dehydration? It is sodium or the highest source of it-- salt (sodium chloride). Salt has no calories but makes you fatter with water retention. This fatness is not affected by eating less calories or burning more calories.
Sea salt is 98% sodium chloride and 2% trace minerals so it is slightly better than regular salt. The group on Natural Healing page suggests using small amounts of Celtic light grey sea salt. It is only 83% sodium chloride so use that instead of regular salt. Check for it at your health food store or buy online (Celtic Sea Salt, Light Grey, Coarse Ground, 1#). Try using less salt and more granulated kelp (seaweed). It is high in organic sodium and organic trace minerals (see health food store below). Organic is something that is or was alive. Salt (including sea salt) is not a plant or animal and was never alive so it is not a food. It is a chemical or rock (as in rocks and minerals). The iron in spinach is organic while the iron in a nail is inorganic like the sodium (Na) in salt.
Biology teaches that plants create food out of water, air, sunshine and minerals (like salt) and animals consume foods so you should get your minerals from foods. Granulated kelp is supposed to help with weight loss. The organic iodine in it helps the thyroid which helps people lose fat. Kelp changes the salt in sea into food just like plants change minerals in dirt. Arnold Schwarzenegger says that water retention is caused by salt, coffee, saccharine and some prescription and over the counter medications.
During the first 5 days of a fast the body dumps huge amounts (up to 80,000 mg per day) of salt so it gets rid of all the excess salt. So this is why someone can lose up to 15 pounds of weight during the first 5 days of a fast. They lose 15 pounds of water. When they start eating a lot of salt they gain it back. If the body continued to lose Na (chemical abbreviation for sodium) after this excess is removed then the person would die after a few more days of fasting due to lack of Na instead of being able to fast a month. But the body no longer needs to get rid of it so the sweat and urine are no longer salty. But due to ignorance, some people think they need to replace this salt since the body is getting rid of it. Sweating helps you lose retained water since you are sweating out excess salt.
The body is working hard to get rid of this salt but has to store the excess under the skin and it has to absorb a lot of water (water retention) so it is not toxic. By the way, the body decides if it needs to keep water or get rid of water based on the sodium concentration according to modern medicine. So when you start eating food with salt again you need to retain all that water again. If you break the fast and don't consume salt you will not gain back that 15 pounds of water.
The biggest problem with the medical community is that even though humans have survived millions of years without their help and the human body has the evolutionary experiential knowledge of billions of years, they think that the human body is stupid. They think that it (the body) urinates and sweats out minerals that it needs. If this were the case people would not be able to fast 5 weeks on only pure water. They think that people need to replace the Na it urinates out. If it does not have excessive amounts of sodium (like people who do not consume salt) then it does not have salty urine and sweat. If you put 4 ounces of salt in water and drink it, the salt will kill you. That is how toxic salt is. This has happened but someone who doubts it can try it.
Note-- the body needs some Na but almost every food contains Na. Like an avocado has 1,400 mg of potassium (K) and 21 mg of Na. The body needs to have a lot more K than Na. The FDA has on their webpage, Healthier Eating (May-June 2005 Issue) a chapter called "Lower Sodium and Increase Potassium." The book, The Rice Diet Solution (©2006) by Kitty Gurkin Rosati R.D. and Robert Rosati M.D. says that in addition to salt causing water retention, it also stimulates the appetite causing people to eat more. Look at the labels on all these man made foods, like Lean Cuisine, and see how much sodium is in them.
Throughout man's history before refrigeration, salt has been important to preserve food by killing the microorganisms that would cause it to rot especially meat and fish. Also with some foods that are fermented, they use the salt to keep the food from going bad until the fermentation kicks in and keeps the food from going bad. People need sodium and chloride but not salt. People who existed over 8.000 years ago have no salt in their skeletons so they never consumed it.
Health expert and author Andrew Weil, MD says on his website "Stabilizing blood sugar by eating [low] glycemic load meals, eating lean protein with healthy fats, drinking plenty of water and having high quantities of fiber from fresh fruits and vegetables all contribute to increased metabolism, which helps the body to burn fat rather than store it." He also says "As far as protein is concerned, eat less meat and poultry, both which contain pro inflammatory fats, and more vegetable protein (soy foods, beans, lentils and other legumes), whole grains, seeds and nuts." Consume less salt for weight loss.
In a book, The Maker's Diet, the author (Jordan Rubin, ND) explains that God would not tell about what meats a person should eat or not eat if we were not supposed to eat meat. But the book, Jane Brody's Nutrition Book (1981), says "God tells Adam in the Garden of Eden about the fruits, nuts, and grains 'to you it shall be for meat.' But it wasn't until the Great Flood had destroyed all vegetation that the Hebrew God gave people permission to eat 'every moving thing that liveth.'" After that God tells about what meats to eat and not to eat. Jane E. Brody was the personal health columnist of the New York Times.
